12th Iberoamerican Congress on Pattern Recognition The XII CIARP (Iberoamerican Congress on Pattern Recognition) will be held in Viña del Mar-Valparaiso, Chile, on November 13 to 16, 2007. The CIARP conference series have a relatively long tradition in the Iberoamerican research community, in particular in pattern recognition, and have had participants from all over the world. They were held in Cuba in 1995, 1997, 1999, 2003, and 2005, Mexico in 1998, 2002, and 2004 and 2006, Portugal in 2000 and Brazil in 2001. The conferences held in Portugal, Brazil, Cuba-2003, Mexico-2004/6 and Cuba-2005 were sponsored by IAPR, and the last four conferences proceedings were published by Springer Verlag in its Lecture Notes in Computer Science series. As before, we expect the CIARP 2007 proceedings to be published in the LNCS series as well. Viña del Mar-Valparaiso,Chile, are two linked cities with a total population approaching 1,300,000.
